special note re: sunday 4th june 10:45am service with baptism
This Sunday we welcome Phil and Beth who are bringing along their two youngest sons Gabriel and Sebastian for baptism. They have been coming to church for a few months now and attending Sunday school. Phil is a volunteer with the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team along with Paul. The team are currently the subject of a Channel 4 documentary. We will be welcoming a camera crew at church on Sunday as they film some of the background happenings of some of the volunteers. Acceptance was sought from the wardens, the Archdeacon and Phil and Steph.
If you don’t want to be filmed, please let Ruth know. Otherwise, we will assume that you are happy to be in the background shots.

FRIDAY DROP-IN
10:00AM TO NOON FRIDAYS AT CHURCH
We are open EVERY FRIDAY to meet in a warm space and share time together.
Hot drinks and homemade bakes are on offer.
We often have visitors on the day, especially as warmer, longer, brighter days are with us. Sometimes it may be a visitor on holiday or someone researching a family member. All are given a warm welcome.
Lots of fellowship, laughs and chatter!
And if it’s a quiet space that you are looking for, to have time to reflect, pray, and light a candle, we have that too.
Why not come along this week and bring a friend?
friday 2nd june drop-In
We will be continuing to sew wildflower seeds. The area to the north side of the church building will be a wildflower meadow which will become known as the CORONATION GARDEN. Sewing wildflower seeds is not a hard thing to do as Jim will have done all the preparation. All you have to do is sprinkle and push them in with your foot. All are welcome to participate, and if you are looking after children in the half term, why not bring them along too!
FOODBANK DONATIONS
Many thanks for all your donations. Don’t forget you can add donations suitable for pets too.
access to church during weekend road closures
MANY OF YOU WILL BE WONDERING HOW TO GET TO CHURCH WITHOUT A PASS DURING THE ROAD CLOSURE OF THE A595 BEGINNING ON MAY 12TH AND RUNNING FOR AT LEAST 10 CONSECUTIVE WEEKENDS. AT A MEETING ON APRIL 26TH AT PARTON VILLAGE HALL STEVE MASON FROM THE HIGHWAYS AGENCY CONFIRMED ALL CHURCH ATTENDEES WOULD JUST HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO THE GATEKEEPER THEY ARE GOING TO CHURCH AND THAT THEY WILL BE LET THROUGH.
So whether you're coming from the north or south the following guidance is intended to make it as simple as possible for you. If you usually come down Rosehill I would advise joining the A595 further south and following the first instructions here...
From the South - arrive at the Pelican garage on the A595 and explain to the gatekeeper that you're going to St. Bridget's church. You will be let through and will then follow the diversion down first brow through Foundry road in Parton and up to church.
From the North - arrive at the Distington roundabout (with Lakes college on your right) and turn right towards Harrington. After a few hundred meters turn left towards Distington golf course - explain to the gatekeeper you are going to St. Bridget's church - then turn first left after the golf course to drive through Lowca and arrive at church.
If you have any further queries you are able to contact the public liaison officer Stephen Tumelty on 07834 418 160 or at stephen.tumelty@aeyates.co.uk
