FRIDAY DROP-IN
10:00AM TO NOON FRIDAYS AT CHURCH
We are open EVERY FRIDAY to share time together or have some quiet prayer or reflection time inside church.
Hot drinks and homemade bakes are on offer.
We often have visitors on the day, especially as the warmer, longer, brighter days are with us. Sometimes it might be someone on holiday or someone who is researching a family member. We always give a warm welcome and they are soon chatting away to whoever is there. Maybe that could be you, offering a friendly welcome and sitting alongside them.
Or why not come along this week and bring a friend?
Also, if you are finding it difficult getting to church on a Sunday while the road improvement works are happening, why don’t you come along on a Friday instead.
Access to church during weekend road closures
The A595 access to church will be closed again at weekends from 8am Friday night until 5am Monday morning.
We have heard that the work is going to plan so hopefully by the time the next diary is out we will be road closure free!
If you are travelling from the South -
Access will be via Rosehill and Church Brow for the weekends of 30th June-2nd July and 7th-9th July.
Otherwise it will be - arrive at the Pelican garage on the A595 and explain to the marshal that you're going to St. Bridget's church. You will be let through and will then follow the diversion down first brow through Foundry road in Parton and up to church.
If you are travelling from the North -
Arrive at the Distington roundabout (with Lakes college on your right) and turn right towards Harrington. After a few hundred meters turn left towards Distington golf course - explain to the marshal you are going to St. Bridget's church - then turn first left after the golf course to drive through Lowca and arrive at church.
Remember you don’t need a pass, you just have to say that you are going to church and they will let you through.
If you have any further queries you are able to contact the public liaison officer Stephen Tumelty on 07834 418 160 or at stephen.tumelty@aeyates.co.uk
