Weekday Online Bible Readings 8.30am accessed via our Facebook page. We will continue to read through the books of Daniel and John. Note: We are taking a Half Term break from this and will resume on Monday the 21st February.

HOME GROUPS

We are about to start a new course in our groups around the Parish. After some problems getting the study books we are ready to start this week. We will be looking closely at Acts using The Good Book Guide to Acts 1-12 “The church is born” by R. Albert Mohler, Jr. If you would like to join a group, please have a chat with Paul or contact Martin or Jim. Some groups are meeting in houses; some are still using zoom.

FRIDAY DROP-IN 10:00am – 12:00 noon

Come along and meet with others to share the crack of the day.

Or perhaps you might like to set aside some time for private prayer.

Anne has started to coordinate the making of a banner to help in our 200th birthday celebrations. Don’t worry if you can’t sew; this project also involves cutting and sticking.

Why not bring along your knitting and sit with Hazel? She plans to help people of all abilities. If you are a confident knitter, you might want to bring your current pattern along and be ready to support someone who slips a stitch!

We continue to add photos and memorabilia to our collection to help with our 200th birthday celebrations. If you haven’t already looked through that box or in those drawers, can we urge you to do so.

FRIDAY DROP IN HELP

It’s great to see how this get together has grown over the past year.

As many of you know Julie is not able to help out at the moment. Thank you to those who have stepped in to help. It’s lovely to see how many of you are making your own drinks and helping others now.

Often Ruth is busy meeting new people and taking copies of things brought in and Jim is working in the church yard. If you would like to help by baking, or be on a list of contacts to help out, please see Ruth.

200TH BIRTHDAY CRAFT ACTIVITIES

As mentioned above, Anne is coordinating the sewing of a special banner. There is also another craft activity being planned which involves the use of buttons. If you have any spare buttons you don’t need, please bring them along to church and we’ll put them to good use. Thank you!

200TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS - FEBRUARY EVENT - TREASURE TRAIL

This month we have planned a simple all age activity to combine with our Drop-In AND Half Term. If you are looking for something to do with your children/grandchildren, why not pop in on Friday morning from 10am. We serve refreshments and there are toys too.

Thanks to Brian for preparing this.

STAMPS

We continue to support the Leprosy Mission by sending used postage stamps to be recycled and generate money for the charity. Can you leave a centimetre of paper around the stamp when you cut them out? Bring your stamps to church and put them in the collection box in the foyer. If you have any questions, please ask Dorothy. Thank you!

RECYCLING COVERS

We still have a supply of covers in the foyer for you to help yourself too. These are provided free by Copeland Council and really do their job in keeping the contents of your bins dry and where they should be.
